Development Objectives: The project aims at promoting gender equality and women empowerment as per the UNDP Gender Equality Strategy 2008- 2013, the ZUNDAF, MDG 3 and CPAP. The intervention in this area is also guided by national and regional instruments such as the Beijing Platform for Action, CEDAW, the SADC Gender and Development Protocol of 2008, the AU Protocol on the Rights of Women and Zimbabwe’s National Gender Policy which is under review . In addition, efforts are being made to mainstream gender in all UNDP practice areas. The project is directly responding to the CPAP Outcomes:
