UNDP Comprehensive Economic Recovery in Zimbabwe:Working Paper SeriesAfter a 12 month period of policy relevant research the “Comprehensive Economic Recovery in Zimbabwe – A Discussion Document”, commissioned by the UNDP Country Office Zimbabwe, was completed in September 2008. The ultimate aim of this study was to provide UNDP and other interested parties with a sound understanding of the nature, depth and scope of Zimbabwe’s social-economic decline, as well as insights into the requirements for a recovery process to be initiated. The 2008 Discussion Document and the ongoing Working Paper Series are very much in line with RBA’s “Strategy and Management Review” (May 2006), in which UNDP Country Offices were enjoined to conduct upstream policy research, including analyses of national policy environments, with a view to strengthening UNDP’s leadership and coordinating role in providing support through special initiatives to states in transitional situations.
