Community Projects Selected for Assistance to Underprivileged Rural Populations Support

Three community projects were recently selected to benefit from a total of US$243 000 grant as part of the Assistance to Underprivileged Rural Populations (AURP), support project.

The recently held second meeting of the Consultative Selection Committee of the AURP project considered and recommended for funding three micro-project proposals, namely the Twananani Community food security garden and water development project, Pedzei community, dam rehabilitation and food security garden development project and Machindu Community sustainable water and garden development project.

The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEFS-GP) in Zimbabwe has launched "Building Bridges for Sustainable Environment and Use," a document showcasing projects and activities supported through the programme since 1993.

UNDP BCPR Funds Mine Action Unit

 The Zimbabwe Mine Action Centre has received US$150 000 from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery’s Mine Action Unit through UNDP Zimbabwe country office to assist in acquisition of mine clearing equipment, capacity building of staff and clearing of land mines in the country’s remaining five land mine fields.

UNDP Receives Funds for Crisis Recovery
